FIRST, Inc. is a 51% Native American owned company. They maintain membership in OAME (Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs) and the ONACC (Oregon Native American Chamber of Commerce) where Bob Huckaby, one of the principals of FIRST, Inc. and a member of the Creek Nation, holds a seat on the Board of Directors. 

Through their affiliation with the ONACC, they have been actively involved in scholarship fund raising.

In 1999, Bob Huckaby, his sister Janie Millican and John Witty, a fellow Creek nation member and ONACC board member, visited the Muscogee Creek Nation in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to research their Native American Heritage.
